Phantom Star Dust fine rollerball pen series. It was Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking who popularized the idea that earth and every living thing is made of star matter. This train of thought could refer to this pen as well. Produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces with each pen individually numbered, the Star Dust series was inspired by images of star dust captured by a telescope. The pens are made of solid brass and are painted in multi-layers of dark and light blue colors using a hand held spray gun in order to create a unique color overlap which resembles images of star dust. Then the surface of each pen is thermo-baked, which turns the paint into beautiful baked enamel. Finally, it is topped with multi-layers of clear coating for added protection and to provide a silky smooth finish. There are no two pens alike, because the spraying of the paint on each pen is a manual process and each pen has a slightly different color overlap pattern. All fittings are solid brass with 18-karat gold plating and are hallmarked. The pen has a screw-on cap. The ergonomically designed shape of the pen allows for an exceptionally balanced writing experience. Suitable for small, medium and large size hands.
