Ultima scissors and shears are precision instruments that will last for many many years with simple care. When you're not using your Ultima shears or scissors, they should be kept in their original package to protect them from scratches and dust. They should be stored in a moisture-free environment to avoid rusting and an occasional drop of oil on the screw and blade will ensure smoother action and a longer cutting life. If your Ultima scissors cannot complete the cut, stop cutting. Never force a cut. Cut heavy materials near the pivot, not near the tips of the blades. Use the right scissors or shears for the job; for example: embroidery scissors are not to be used for heavy fabric. Handle with care because dropping scissors can knock them out of alignment which will reduce cutting accuracy.
