Question: Would a size 42d bra fit?

Answer: Yes, the bra storage box is suitable for 42D bra and other lager size bras. Our bra storage box is about 5.7 inch deep.

Question: How do you clean it?

Answer: I've not needed to clean mine yet, but I feel that spot cleaning with a damp wash cloth. I don't think putting in a washing machine would be wise because it does have cardboard inserts.

Question: Are the cells attached to the bottom? Or do they have space underneath and float.

Answer: Two of the sides are attached but you can slip your fingers underneath.

Question: Would these work sitting free standing on a shelf without the support of a drawer wall?

Answer: Yes, they are free standing. The sides of the units are reinforced with thick cardboard. Once the units are opened up, there is a zipper on the bottom of each one, that will offer a bit of structure too.
