ABOUT OUR PRODUCT
~ The longest side of the shell is 6 to 6.5 inches, the inside (bowl) diameter of the shell is around a 4.5/5.5 inch oval.
~ 100% Natural finish- This shell is totally in its natural form, it may have rough edges and small chips on the edges this is created when the abalone divers loosen the shells from the rocks. The outside of the shell has a textured, natural lime skin which camouflages the abalone and protects it from predators in the water. The inside reveals the unique blue, green and pink hues and patterns created by the ocean's tides.
~ Our shells are 100% sustainably harvested. Traditionally abalone shells used for smudging rituals come from around Mexico and California, these fisheries have suffered terribly from many years of over harvesting, sadly they are not sustainable.
