The Pivit Y-connector allows for two oxygen sources producing smaller amounts of oxygen per minute to be combined to provide more oxygen. It can also be used when two people use oxygen therapy daily by splitting the oxygen from a single source between them. If you are splitting the oxygen between two patients, it is important to know that you are cutting the liters per minute in half for each patient. Therefore, if both patients need 2LPM you would have to run the oxygen source at 4LPM to provide sufficient oxygen.
Lightweight construction with a universal and snug fit for almost any oxygen tubing
This connector is able to be used in conjunction with all standard 3/16" and 1/4" oxygen tubing on any of the three equally sized prongs. Each prong is barbed and tapered at a low angle to provide a sturdy fit for the tubing which can still be easily removed with a pull-and-twist motion. They are lightweight and durable to prevent unwanted weight on the tubing as well as shattering and cracking which are common with similar products made from hardened plastic.Â

Obstructions in oxygen therapy can cause the user to recieve insufficient oxygen. When an obstruction occurs, it may go unnoticed until the negative signs of low oxygen start to show in the user. The best way to prevent an obstruction from going unchecked is to make sure that it can be checked with a simple glance. Lack of necessary oxygen can lead to hypoxia and hypomexia which may cause:
