The product is easily cleaned in the dishwasher.  We recommend placing the bowl in the top rack. Please note that the outer shell easily comes apart to further ease the cleaning process. As with all of our products, we have used materials in the construction of the bowl that are free of chemicals like BPA, phthalates, melamine, PET or biologically harmful chemicals. We do not use recycled content in any of our products due to not being able to control what is in the material.  However, please recycle this product or hand it down.
