At Home on Main Handmade Decorative Wood Crates (nested set of 3): Our handcrafted wood crates or storage boxes are each finished by an artisan so color or texture from what is shown in the photos may vary. The cottage grey crates have been painted and sanded by hand to achieve a distressed look. The bottoms are not painted or sanded - they are a plain wood. The crates come in 3 different sizes, so they can be used for a variety of objects, and can be nested and stored together when not in use. Terrific for storage, stylish display and organization. Picture them in your home for : toiletries/cosmetics, kitchen items (oils, towels, fruit, cooking utensils), plants & seeds, laundry items, craft or office supplies, shadow box displays & more. Please note that these are sturdy but not designed to hold very heavy objects. They can be hung on the wall, but only if you place lightweight items inside (such as small plants, small picture frames or knickknacks). Use & care instructions: When you receive and unpack your crates, be sure to wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth to remove excess dust from packaging and shipping. The crates have not been sealed, so if you desire a smooth finish or want to ensure there is no flaking of paint, you may wish to apply a clear coat of varnish.
