Shunted Tombstone Installation Option: You must use the dual-ended connection feature, wiring one end of the fixture to hot and the other end of the fixture to neutral.
Non-Shunted Tombstone Installation Options: 1) You may choose to use the dual-ended connection feature (recommended). For this feature, you must wire one end of the fixture with the HOT wire and the other end of the fixture with the NEUTRAL wire.
2) You may alternatively choose to use the single ended feature. For this feature, you must wire HOT and NEUTRAL wires to a single end of the fixture, the opposite end will remain as the dummy tombstone end for purposes of holding the tube in place.
- BALLAST BYPASS. These tubes must be installed using the ballast bypass method. Use the instructions provided to remove the ballast from your fixtures and directly wire your new T8 tubes. Fluorescent replacement (T8, T10, T12) will save you both time and money as ballasts inevitably fail over time and will require replacement. Ballasts also consume electrical power and by bypassing them you will save even more on your energy bill.
