- All RoofBag carriers include 2 straps that are sufficient 99% of the time. Purchase an extra set: for large vehicles without rack, to increase the length of included RoofBag straps, or for additional carrier support on cars with a curved roof, or on cars with both cross bars and side rails.
- For large vehicles without rack and with rear gate: X-pattern installation avoids strap near the driver?s head. Extra straps connect with included RoofBag straps to extend from front window to rear gate.
- For large vans without rack and with rear window or vent that opens: X-pattern installation avoids strap near the driver?s head. Extra straps connect with included Roofbag straps to extend from front window to rear window or vent.
- For cars with both side rails and cross bars: use extra straps to attach carrier to both cross bars (left-to-right) and side rails (front-to-back) for additional support. Cars with curved roof: an extra strap near the front of the carrier will keep the front of the bag from lifting.
- Straps are unique in the market: seat-belt-quality nylon (not inexpensive polypropelene), 1.5? wide, 3,000 lbs strong, with 4 genuine YKK buckles for easy access. Straps are water repellent and won?t wick water into the car. Length: 143?.
