Full circle holders make it impossible to reach the water pump sprocket bolts behind the front cover. However, this holder has a half-circle design for easier access to the water pump gear bolts. There are factory machined holes to accommodate this tool, and it uses access cover bolts to hold the tool in place. The bolts are O-ring clip-retained, so there is no need to worry about dropping them inside the timing gear cover.
