The GrandWay 01162 model is a fixed blade karambit knife of typical claw shape with a sharpening on the inner side of the blade. On the spine there is a false edge without sharpening to strengthen the blade and jimping for better thumb control while handling.
The blade is made of 440C stainless steel with a rather good resistance to corrosion and ability of retaining the sharpness of the cutting edge for a long time. This model has a gray anti-glare coating such as Ti-Ni (Titanium Nitride) which gives additional anti-corrosion protection.
The construction of the knife is full tang, that is, a single strip of metal.
The handle is formed by two cover plates made of G10 material. This is a modern and durable material. The finger grooves on the handle provide comfortable grip and easy handling.
Traditionally, this is a kind of tactical combat knives used in martial arts, self-defense, and as part of armed forces equipment.
Karambit knives (also known as kerambit, carambit or cerambit) are also applicable for civilian purposes and will perfectly cope with the cutting of cardboard, rope, tape, scotch and so on.
The knife has both direct and reverse grips. Technique of using such kind of knife is designed primarily for intersecting strokes.
The knife comes with a sheath made of nylon fiber.
