With the continuing success of Jasmine's folk releases comes this superb set by The New Christy Minstrels. Founded by Randy Sparks, they were a prominent group in the early 1960s US folk revival. Presented here are the group's first two albums 'Presenting: The New Christy Minstrels...' and 'In Person'. Both these albums charted with 'Presenting' reaching No 19 in the Billboard charts and it also won the Grammy award for 'Best Performance by a Chorus'. Includes the hits "This Land Is Your Land" and "Denver". The New Christy Minstrels helped to launch the careers of Kenny Rogers, Gene Clark, Kim Carnes and Barry McGuire. This is an excellent collection for fans of folk music and in particular the early '60s revival.
