About Uncle Shrimp
Uncle Shrimp collaborates with shrimp farms in Yunlin, Taiwan to bring their naturally farmed shrimp to the consumer in a delicious snack. These shrimp farms do not use any chemicals nor antibiotics to raise their shrimp. By channeling natural seawater and combining kelp, clams, and other complementary marine life, the shrimp can thrive in a healthy and natural environment that is also eco-friendly.
After harvesting, the shrimp are given a "spa" treatment to naturally expel the grit in the vein which does not damage and harm the shrimp instead of a physical deveining process.
The shrimp are parboiled gently and then put into our specialized vacuum fryer in small batches at 250F for 1 hour to slowly cook the shrimp with minimal oil while maintaining freshness, flavor, and form. When the shrimp comes out of the fryer, it is crispy yet not greasy at all.
After the minimal processing, we only add sugar and salt which enhances the flavors of the shrimp without any MSG, chemicals, artificial flavor enhancers, nor preservatives.

Shrimp is loaded with protein and vitamins. The shells on shrimp contain chitin from which chitosan is derived. Chitosan can help healing of wounds, lower bad cholesterol, and even help to block fat absorption.
