This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the OEM plastic latch which will crack and break off the end of the cable. This can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes with simple hand tools. This sale is NOT for the entire cable, just for the replacement latch handle that fits on the end of the cable. The aluminum latch, the 2 set screws, the Allen key, and written instructions are included. The normal cable replacement would take between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. This replacement latch can be installed in a few minutes. It requires the removal of the corner plastic kick plate. Then about 1" of the remaining plastic must be trimmed off the end of the cable with wire cutters. (See photo.) Slip it over the end of the cable, tighten the 2 set screws, replace the corner plastic kick plate, and you are finished.
