Instead of teeth, Wally has baleen, a huge set of bristles made from keratin (same stuff that makes up your fingernails and hair) that look a bit like the teeth of a comb. Here's how they works: first Wally gains some speed and then shoots through a big swarm of krill shrimp with his mouth wide open. The shrimp and seawater flood in past the baleen. Then, Wally closes the area between the ends of his baleen and his mouth, and shoots all the seawater right out, with the krill trapped inside by the baleen. Wally can now chow down on a feast of shrimp, which'd be much too salty with all that seawater!
