Anna-Lucia had been telling herself for the past ten years that she had moved on. She'd put the one torrid night she had spent with Dean Trager behind her – way behind her. However good it had been, and whatever his reasons for staying away from her, it didn't change the fact that she was over the experience.

She thought she was, anyway. She'd worked hard to make a life for herself – a successful career as a Detective with the LAPD, and she's never thought anything had been missing.

Until Dean Trager walked back into her life.

Anna-Lucia thought Dean had disappeared after their one night together, on his own accord, but when the truth comes out, it's more damning than she could have ever imagined. They occupy the opposite sides of society, more than time separating them, but when they're together it seems like what they have is worth fighting for.

It seems like an impossible sacrifice, but Anna-Lucia can't imagine walking away from him forever. She's tried.
