Screw Eyes are small eye hooks used on the back of picture frames to thread hanging wire through. Screweyes are also used in many craft projects, woodcrafts, decorations, ornaments or small wood projects to attach or hang wire, string or thread.
The 214.5 screw eye size is for small projects. This screw eye has a short shank that is useful in small craft projects, the threaded area on the screw eye is only 1/4 inch in length. The sharp point will easily bite into wood. The thickness or wire diameter is only 1/16 inch so a pilot hole is typically not necessary and these can be hand screwed in or use an awl to make a starter hole.
