Steen O'Mannon is a newly single forty-two year old man who has developed a recent interest in survivalism. He's an everyday man who gets thrust into survival mode after America falls victim to an EMP attack. As conditions rapidly deteriorate he realizes that his best chance for survival lies beyond the city limits. Clad in body armor and armed with an assault rifle, he grabs his bugout bag and takes to the city streets. As he blazes a trail through the urban jungle, he leaves a pile of bodies in his wake too numerous to count. Along the way he meets a young woman named Rebecca who is in desperate need of help. Together they struggle to survive the mean city streets amidst a catastrophe of cataclysmic proportions.
When Steen and Becca finally break free from the city they encounter a serious survivalist who is more than prepared to survive any crisis. Back at his high-tech compound, they learn the enemy's identity and the U.S. military response. But when the black helicopters come and the compound is invaded by government agents, Steen and Becca discover that people aren't always who they seem to be.
