There's no easy way to scrape carbon out of the star chamber of an MSR unless you're a surgeon. That's why most shooters use a star chamber brush to loosen the carbon - then remove it with a star chamber cleaning pad and a healthy dose of solvent. Done deal. Now go back to shooting.
