Torque wrenches are expensive, but so are those carbon cockpit components you're bolting onto your race machine. Park Tool's ATD-1 Adjustable Torque Driver provides a solution to the home tinkerer who doesn't want to drop $300 into a tool they'll use once or twice, but also doesn't want to hit the deck because an overtightened clamp results in catastrophic seatpost or bar failure. The ATD-1 is as simple as it is compact, allowing a range of Newton meters from 4 to 6 in increments of 1/2 Nm. While it's not equal to pressing in a bottom bracket, the little blue tool does allow the perfect range for at-home cockpit adjustment without risking the no-going-back crack of over-enthusiastic wrenching with standard Allen and Torx keys. It's not reversible, so loosening bolts will be the job of mundane tools, and the blue handle doubles as storage for an included collection of the most commonly required bits: 3, 4, and 5mm Allen and T25. The tool's internals are all metal, and they're assembled and calibrated in Park Tool's Minnesota facililty.
