Whether its occasional flyers looking to catch up on their TV programs, corporate employees wanting to review their email on commuter flights, or parents looking for a way to keep their kids busy on long flights, cellphones and tablets are rapidly becoming the "go to" viewing devices for occupying one's time on airplanes. The biggest issue is, what do you do with that device while watching that movie or video?
Holding it for the entire flight is uncomfortable. Placing it in on your lap or on a stand on the tray table can cause neck strain by looking down for extended periods of time, and won't protect your device from unexpected turbulence. When you're not using your device, they can become misplaced, or worse, fall under and in-between the seats. There are very few accessory options on the market, and they are usually expensive, large and complex, and/or specifically made for one particular device. Our goal was to design a universal device holder that attaches to the back of airplane tray tables and molded magazine pockets (on newer planes) that is durable and versatile.
With that in mind, we contracted an engineer to design a holder that would hit all those points, and after many iterations, we created the Lockjaww.
