I wind the wool by hand and use West Australian merino sheep wool tops which I felt using organic soap nuts. If you like hard textured wool balls, just wash them in washing machine with rinse program and wool balls become much harder. They weigh approx. 0.2 ounce and are approx. 2 inches thick. So little, soft, light, colored - everybody most enjoy !
