As a totally new product, it is normal that the USB A port is a little tight when you use it in the beginning. It will not damage the device or affect its using.
The close positioning of USB-C ports on the 2017 & 2016 MacBook Pro (13" & 15") means two CB-A1 adapters can't be plugged into adjacent ports but may be used on opposite sides of the MacBook.
