This delicious sweet, Molasses (syrup) is really one of a kind!
It is made from the carob pod in a very tradition way by a family in a small Arab village here in Israel. The recipe is secret and has been passed down for generations, but we do know that the carob pods are cooked on a fire for at least 24-48 hours in preparation for the making of the syrup.
This carob "honey" is 100% sugar free. Nothing is added to dilute or thin the syrup. Absolutely NO artificial ingredients, additives or preservatives. Not only is it wonderful to spread on bread and toast but it is a great topping for fruit or ingredient for cooking and baking! Carob is considered a low-calorie, low-fat and low-caffeine alternative to chocolate.used in place of sweetener and chocolate in many delicious desserts.
