What is whisker fatigue?
Does your cat display behaviors such as leaving food behind mid meal, or pawing food out of the bowl to eat on the floor? They might be suffering from Whisker Fatigue. A cat's whiskers are ultra sensitive. When they are forced against the sidewalls of a traditional feeding bowl, it can cause discomfort and pain. Sometimes these eating related problems even manifest themselves as aggression towards other pets or furniture.
How to prevent whisker fatigue?Dr. Catsby's food bowl is a wide and shallow dish, with no sidewalls and corners. Cats don't have to pull back their whiskers to avoid unwanted or agonizing contacts. (Dry) Food falls down to the center for an easier access. The bowl is also sized for an ideal portion of one day's portion to prevent over feeding. The silicone mat holds the bowl in place.
