Within your vacuum bagging lay-up, this Breather/Bleeder drapes easily over your laminate, directly below your bagging film, to serve two key purposes.
As a breather, it allows for vacuum pressure to be applied evenly across the entire surface of the laminate. It also permits any gases released during cure to escape. Use the 4 oz. format (#579) for applications working under 40 psi. The 7 oz. format (#1779) can be used at higher pressure cycles (between 40 and 85 psi), and provides a lower amount of surface porosity.
When used as a bleeder, both varieties absorb excess resin applied during the lay-up process. Keep in mind, the 7 oz. will absorb more resin and may result in a dry part without careful control. Bleeder should be thrown away after use.
Both 4 oz. and 7 oz. are available in 60" wide formats.
- Fibre Glast Breather-Bleeder Fabric – Use this cloth mat as a layer in your vacuum bagging or degassing chamber. When placed under the bagging film, bleeder/breather cloth creates more even vacuum pressure and absorbs excess resin. 4 oz, 60in x 180in.
- Get Next Level Results – Manual layups are great, vac bagging is better. Try this curing process after wet layups of fiberglass, carbon or Kevlar parts. It sucks out air, humidity and excess epoxy-resin for stronger, lighter and more uniform parts.
