This filter is used to eliminate harmful pollutants such as formaldehyde, ammonia and many other common contaminates released by building materials and household cleaners generally found in the home. In order for this filter to work it needs to be combined with a ultraviolet light. When this Titanium Oxide filter is exposed to UV light it creates highly reactive electrons which aggressively combine with Volatile Organic Compounds oxidizing them. This breaks the pollutant down into harmless carbon dioxide and water molecules. Do not wash this filter! Vacuum with a soft brush if needed.
