The long and multi-faceted career of Earl Wild (1915 2010) spanned nearly a century, from his formative years in the jazz-age Roaring Twenties to becoming the first pianist to give a recital on American television and to stream a performance over the Internet. To celebrate Wild s 2015 centenary year, Sony Classical releases Earl Wild The Complete RCA Album Collection, the legendary pianist s complete albums for RCA Victor and Columbia Masterworks in a five-CD set.

In the 1930 s, Earl Wild left his native Pittsburgh and came to New York where he joined the NBC network as a staff pianist where he participated in a highly acclaimed broadcast of Rhapsody in Blue under Arturo Toscanini s baton. Although Wild s repertoire embraced the piano s entire history, he gained principal renown as an authentic master and ardent advocate of the Romantic style. He continued to play concerts, record and teach into his early nineties.

Earl Wild The Complete RCA Album Collection features five CDs in a clamshell box with booklet. The contents and sleeves replicate each album s original LP packaging and the box set includes three rare bonus selections never before released on CD.
