Sentenced to hang for a murder he did not commit, young Jubal Crockett escapes from jail with help from a young woman. Hounded by Marshal Tom Baylor and his posse, Crockett, runs from one fearful, violent encounter to another. As time passes, he learns to make his way with the gun.
