The 38G Needle is our most popular needle size, These are high quality Felting Needles in a bulk set of 50. The 38 Gauge Triangular Needle has 9 total barbs, 3 Barbs on each of the 3 edges allowing you to felt quicker and more efficiently. These needles are great for bulk and sculpting work as well as detailed work. There are three common sizes for the triangular needle, 36G, 38G and 40G. The lower the gauge number, such as 36G, will be thicker, and is best used for bulk work, the higher the gauge, such as 40G, is a thinner gauge best used for detail work. This makes the 38G the best for all around needle. All felting needles are thin and by their very nature can be fragile if used to aggressively. In order to prevent breakage it is a good idea to use a forward and backward movement for best results. Avoid side to side movement as you needle felt. We have found there is a high demand for needle felters buying in larger sets like 50, you will pay a lot less per needle.
