Originally inspired by chef Marshal du Plessis-Praslin. The pralines were originally made with almonds and caramelized sugar. French settlers brought this recipe to Louisiana where sugar cane was plentiful and created what has become known throughout southern United States as the praline by substituting pecans for almonds and adding cream to thicken the confection. Enjoy this sweet treat when they are warm in your own home. 1-10oz box makes 10-12 pralines depending on the size of your scoop. The directions are on the back of the box and you can make them in either the microwave or on the stovetop.
