Having been a part time writer myself, I found this book to be a pragmatic tool for beginners who are interested in writing children’s books. It comprehensively covers the different kinds of books targeted at children, of which there are more than one would think! Additionally, it contains a checklist that writers can follow in order to succeed. Contrary to popular belief, children’s books require as much brainstorming and writing skills as any other types of books. Above all else, one must consider the lessons and values behind the book they intend to write, especially since the main target audience is highly impressionable and in a crucial developmental stage in their lives. This book is a great reference for those who want to become prolific in the field of writing. I strongly recommend all the aspiring children’s book writers to grab a copy.

This book has plenty of good recommendations for the beginning children's author. I guess the first and most important issue is, don't try to do everything yourself. You don't need to be the world's best artist or the world's best writer. You can always find people to help you with those parts of your book. Everyone has an idea in the back of their mind for a great kids book. This book helps direct the ideas into books that will actually sell and be appealing to children....
