World Centric is proud to offer three lines of hot cups, as well as lids. Each is lined with NatureWorks IngeoTM (derived from plants grown in the USA) for a leak-proof barrier. Traditional hot cups are lined with polyethylene, which renders them difficult to recycle and unsuitable for composting. We believe that the best way to protect the world's forest is to reduce consumption of tree-based products. Technologically, it's difficult to make something similar to paper cups from alternative fibers. We are currently researching to see if paper cups and bowls can be made from a mix of alternative fibers, recycled fibers, and responsibly managed wood/paper fibers to create a more sustainable product. In the meantime we carry lines that have improved on the standard paper cup. Our traditional white paper cup line is achieved using Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) paper; paper bleached without using elemental chlorine. We are proud to offer this line in FSC® Certified paper as it helps reinforce our commitment to responsible forestry. The cups in our kraft paper cup line undergo no additional bleaching process and are the natural brown color of the paper itself. Our newer double walled cup line reduces the need for a paper cup sleeve. These double walled cups are also made with Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) paper. World Centric cups are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute and meet ASTM standards for compostability. Our paper & IngeoTM products are guaranteed to break down in 2-3 months in industrial facilities. Please check locally, as the facilities are not available in all communities.
