The DEWALT DWD450 1/2" VSR Stud & Joist Drill features a mechanical clutch which prevents bit lock-up in low gear and provides increased gear life. It offers an 11.0 Amp high performance DEWALT built motor for increased power and performance in high torque applications. This unit has 2 variable speed ranges: 0-330 / 0-1300 RPM to match appropriate speed to the application. It is designed with a metal gear housing for jobsite durability and increased reliability, along with 100% ball-bearing contraction which provides mechanical durability and longer tool life. The adjustable front handle and 2-position side handle provide maximum leverage and control. This drill is designed to be used for Spade bit applications in wood up to 1-1/2", Self-feed bit applications in wood up to 4-5/8", Hole saw applications in wood up to 6", Auger bit applications in wood up to 1-1/2", Twist bit applications in steel up to 1/2", and Hole saw applications in steel up to 5".
