SIC candy maker was founded in 1947 by Paul Torassa who had directed a pasta factory before. He loved licorice and decided one day to try using a pasta machine to make long strands of licorice. He then cut them. The candy became popular and the company has specialized ever since in licorice and other candies. Cachou candies are a classic and have been for decades.
