USG Durock Shower System Waterproofing Membrane is perfect for waterproofing custom walk-in showers where ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone will be installed. Tile shower waterproofing underlayment provides a completely waterproof barrier between the substrate and the installed tile when it is applied to code-approved substrates with unmodified thinset mortar. This membrane is a vapor retarder that is thin, pliable, and extremely durable. Measure 36" wide x 50' long and is installed using a 3/16" x 3/16" V-Notch, or 1/8" x 1/8" Square or U-Notch Trowel. This waterproofing membrane is only .012" thick, making installation easy without excessive buildup. Embed the membrane into the mortar that is applied to the substrate, with a finishing trowel or similar tool and work out any air bubbles. Make sure to overlap all adjoining sections a minimum of 2", to ensure a completely waterproof barrier.
