Volume two in Neeme Jarvi's series with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande devoted to Joachim Raff's orchestral music. His Symphony No. 5 Lenore is heard alongside the rhapsody Abends and overtures and preludes to Dame Kobold, Konig Alfred, Die Eifersuchtigen and Dornroschen. The idiomatic performances by Neeme Jarvi and his Swiss orchestra in Volume 1, described as 'peerless' by BBC Music (*****), suggest that they are the perfect performers to reinvigorate interest in Raff's music.
