To use the coffee press, place coffee maker on a flat, heat-proof, non-slip surface. Hold handle then pull plunger up and out of the pot. Put the desired amount of coarse ground coffee (1 tablespoon is to 4-ounce cup). Slowly pour hot water (not boiling) into the pot. Make sure to leave at least 1-inch of space at the top to avoid spilling. Slightly stir the brew with a spoon (plastic spoon recommended to avoid scratching, chipping or breaking of the glass). Put plunger on top of the pot (lid must face the spout opening to close off the spout). Wait for the coffee to brew for at least 4 minutes (do not press the plunger down). After few minutes, hold the handle firmly then with some weight from your hand, apply a slight pressure on top and slowly push the plunger down. Slowly pour coffee in the cup. Enjoy your coffee. To clean the coffee press, remove the plunger from the pot then unscrew filter assembly and clean each plunger and filter unit after each use. Clean the pot with soap and lukewarm water (use light pressure when washing to avoid breakage). All parts are also dishwasher safe. Caution: Coffee press is not for stovetop use. Avoid putting too much pressure (minimal pressure produces best results). Carefully wash the coffee maker. Use only medium to coarse ground coffee.
