We take our chia seriously, hence the name Get Chia and we have been selling top quality chia since 2007. First, we start by working with a group of farmers that only grow chia. Some suppliers use growers that alternate between chia and other crops. Second, we have our reps walk the fields during the growing season. The chia is harvested at it's peak allowing for the most nutrition with the richest Omega's. After the harvest the chia is cleaned then cold stored in our facility. We then do another round of cleaning through our proprietary screening process. We package chia daily so you can be sure that you are getting the freshest, most nutritious and cleanest chia on the planet. It is also high in protein and calcium, with 5 times the calcium of milk, 631 mg per 100 grams of seed. Chia seed is also high in protein, with 18 grams per 100 grams of seed. Chia seed is rich in antioxidant oils. It contains chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid as well as myricetin, quercetin and kaempferol flavonols. These compounds are both primary and synergistic antioxidants and contribute in a major way to the strong antioxidant activity of chia.
