Italian-born, Baroque-era composer Giovanni Platti left his native Italy in the 1720's to serve a Prince-Bishop in Wurzburg, Germany, where the concerti on this disc were composed. Recorded in 2011, this disc contains 3 World-Premiere recordings. Cellist Stefano Veggeti is the founder and artistic director of the period-instrument Ensemble Cordia. Mr. Veggetti teaches baroque cello at the Conservatory in Verona. Booklet contains notes on the music, the performers and the the composer.
