David Bercot explains how the early Christians understood 1 Corinthians 11, which talks about the head covering or prayer veil. He demonstrates from the writings of the early Christians that Christian women wore a veil or other covering on their heads when they prayed (and at other times as well).

Bercot goes on to discuss when this custom disappeared among most western Christians. The head covering is still worn today by Mennonite and Amish women and by Christian women in certain other Christian groups.
