Complete Sonatas & Works;

In this very special project, Linus Roth and José Gallardo interpret
Weinberg's sonatas and works for violin and piano in a complete anthology for the first time! Weinberg's repertoire has always been only partially performed and recorded, but never as a complete collection, and this recording features world premiere recordings of
Sonatas 2 & 6. This is currently the only available recording of the
Rhapsody on Moldavian Themes; it was recorded around 40 years ago but the vinyl is no longer available. Linus Roth and José Gallardo have been playing together since 1998, and have performed several hundred concerts together. Gallardo has won many national and international awards, and in 2006 Roth received the Echo Klassik Award for 'Best Newcomer' for his debut
CD with sonatas by Brahms, Debussy, Ysaÿe, and Mendelssohn, released on EMI Classics. As a concert soloist he has performed with the Stuttgart State Opera Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Bern Symphony Orchestra, and more.
