Retraction of the brush is a push and pull action and not a twist and turn. Retracting the brush: 1) Remove the silver cap; 2) Hold brush with the left hand in the center joint of the polish silver with the ridge; 3) With right hand, pull back on the silver base until you hear a click to extend and retract the brush in place.
