The NMC RPT112 accident prevention tag is made of 15 mil vinyl for water and chemical resistance, and the header on both sides of the tag reads, "Inspection Record" followed by a blank grid for writing inspection data. The blank grid has four columns with headers that read "Date," "By," "Date," and "By." This tag has a tensile strength of 6,300 pounds per square inch to help resist unauthorized removal. It includes a 3/8" diameter hole and an 8" one-piece nylon cable tie for attachment. This tag can be used to display the last inspection date and the inspection history for a piece of equipment. The tag measures 6 x 3 inches (H x W). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right.)
Safety tags use color and text to help reduce workplace accidents by providing safety information at specific locations. They can be used to help prevent machine operation or power activation during maintenance and repair, identify the schedule and authority responsible for a project requiring extra caution, provide inspection status, and safety instructions. Sometimes a tag's thickness will be measured in mils. One mil equals one thousandth of an inch.
National Marker Company manufactures signs and safety information products. The company, founded in 1934, is headquartered in North Smithfield, RI.
