About Lakai:
Lakai is a Torrance, California-based footwear manufacturer specializing in designs that are aesthetically engineered with skateboarding in mind. Professional skateboarders Mike Carroll and Rick Howard founded Lakai in 1999, motivated by their desire to create a footwear environment that was reflective of the ideals and camaraderie of their Girl/Chocolate board brands. Lakai’s first video, “Beware of the Flare,†was released in June 2002. Their follow up, the highly anticipated “Fully Flared,†was released to critical acclaim on November 16, 2007.
