Manufactured for Kayalu by Tektite, the Navlite is a rugged, submersible red/green running light (bow light) assembly for kayak and canoe. The unit is comprised of two bright 2-LED Mark III marker lights secured within a Cordura pouch.
Each of the two individual lights within the Navlite have the same durable ABS and Lexan construction as used in the Kayalu Kayalite kayak stern light and Kayalu R25® handheld navigation light. The lights are waterproof to 1000 feet (300 meters) below sea level and operate 100 hours on a single set of 3 AA alkaline batteries (included). Each light incorporates 2 LEDs (total of 4), providing exceptional brightness through each colored lens.
The Navlite is intended for use in marine saltwater and freshwater environments.
The red and green lights are turned on and off individually, by a twist of the lens housing. A rigid fiberglass rib and strap on the interior the pouch provides necessary separation, structural support and keeps the lights firmly fastened as a unified assembly.
INSTALLATION on a Kayak Deck: The running light assembly is fastened to the bow of a kayak by clipping or tying the pouch to an existing deck loop, deck rigging, bungee cord or any other point(s) available on the forward deck. The pouch has three brass grommets available for tying rope or bungee cords (cords are not included). In addition to the three grommets, the pouch has a Cordura belt loop on its underside available for a strap, shock cord or other means of attachment.
