Because manufacture styles can differ from brand to brand, to assure proper sizing, please do not measure your dog’s previous collar. Instead, using a cloth measuring tape and measure your dog’s neck where the collar would normally sit, not high by his ears or too low where his chest and shoulders meet. The tape should be flush with your dog’s neck without slack, there is no need for the ‘two finger’ rule. If you don’t have a cloth tape, you can use a piece of string, or a shoelace and measure with a ruler after you determine the fit.
