BioGuard Silk Smart Sticks allow pool owners to sanitize their pool water simply by adding these slow-dissolving sticks into their skimmer. As they dissolve, they effectively kill bacteria and control algae to keep your pool healthy, while its SunShield technology prevents it from breaking down due to sun exposure. Its SilkGuard formula eliminates dissolved metals which can cause staining, scale, and corrosion, resulting in water that is softer and has a more natural quality. Silk Smart Sticks drastically reduce your pool's need for other chemical treatments, saving you considerable money while giving you outstanding water quality with a velvety feel that other sanitizers simply cannot match. Product Dosage Initial Start Up: 1 Stick per 5,000 gallons of water. Routine Maintenance: 1 Stick per 5,000 gallons of water. Each Stick weighs approximately 1/2 lb. Directions Initial Start Up: Consult your Bioguard dealer for initial water balance and start-up procedures. Ensure that pool equipment is operating properly. Backwash filter and use Strip Kwik as necessary. Add Stabilizer 100 to establish a minimum level of 40-50 ppm. Superchlorinate pool water with Smart Shock to obtain a chlorine level of at least 1-4 ppm. Add initial doeage of Back-Up or Algae All 60 algaecide per label directions to prevent algae. When using other products as outlined in directions for this product, always follow directions on those products. With the pump operating, add one Silk Smart Stick to the pool skimmer basket for every 5,000 gallons of water or a portion thereof.
