The 12" Deulen Sharpener is the answer to putting an edge on your jointer and planer knives. The key is the two brass blade holders inset into the hardwood handle. These tracks hold the blades securely and at the proper angle. With a blade in each track, it is a simply a matter of holding the handle and rubbing the blades against an abrasive surface. We recommend abrasive paper in a progression of grits from 120 to 400 grit for final polishing. It couldn't be easier, and the proof is performance. More than one blade? In the case of 8" knives, just put two 8" blades on one, one the other. Three 12" blades? No problem! Dan has worked out a system of alternating the blades that takes just a little more time but yields the same fantastic results. Longer Blades? For For knives longer than 16", use two jigs put end to end.
