What are probiotics? Bio-Kult contains 14 live probiotic strains to complement the existing gut flora naturally present in a healthy person's digestive system. Sometimes, the balance of bacteria in your gut can become imbalanced from things such as ill health, poor diet and/or antibiotics (which can kill off the necessary bacteria in your system), resulting in something called ‘gut dysbiosis'. You can help restore the balance in your digestive system by eating a diet with a rich rainbow of fruit and vegetables and can further assist this by taking a bacterial supplement. How do I use Bio-Kult Advanced? Our capsules can be pulled apart and the contents sprinkled onto food, mixed with a drink or swallowed whole. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool dry place – out of direct sunlight. Don't probiotics need to be kept in the fridge? As with all Bio-Kult products, there is no need to refrigerate and they can be stored at room temperature. This is in thanks to our unique freeze-drying process where the probiotics in the Bio-Kult range are encapsulated during the freeze drying (lyophilisation) process, which may aid protection from the harsh acid environment of the stomach. Won't the stomach acid kill all the bacteria off before they can start working? All our Bio-Kult products are proven to survive the high acidity of stomach acid. Directions for use*: Take 1-2 capsules once or twice daily with food. If you are taking antibiotics: Take 4 capsules daily, ideally at a different time of day from the antibiotics. Continue taking for at least 2 weeks after completion of the antibiotic course. For travellers: 1 week before travel follow guidelines for general use. During travel take 4 capsules daily. Continue to take for at least 1 week following the end of travel. Children under 12: Take half the adult dose. Pregnancy: Bio-Kult is suitable for use during pregnancy, but we would always suggest consulting your doctor or healthcare practitioner before taking any food supplement.
